1. Who We Are

debtclear.me is an independent web application providing mathematical debt payoff calculators. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this site.

2. Data We Collect

We may collect:

• Calculator inputs — debt amounts, APRs, and payment figures are processed locally in your browser and optionally saved to your account in Firebase.
• Account data — email address and authentication provider when you sign up via Google or email/password.
• Analytics data — anonymised page views and button interaction events via Google Analytics 4 (only with your consent).
• Payment data — handled entirely by Stripe; we do not store card details.

3. Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how our site is used. GA4 cookies are only placed after you accept our cookie banner. You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking "Manage Cookies" in the footer, or by clearing your browser cookies.

We use the GA4 Consent Mode v2 to respect your preference. When you decline, no identifiable tracking data is sent to Google.

4. Firebase (Google Cloud)

If you create an account, your email address and saved debt plans are stored in Firebase Firestore, operated by Google. Data is stored in the EU (Belgium, europe-west1). Firebase authentication is governed by Firebase Terms of Service.

5. Your Rights (UK GDPR)

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us via the email address associated with your account or through our website. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time. Analytics data is retained for 14 months in accordance with Google Analytics default settings.
